In the autumn when the idea of atheist buses first took off the major press coverage outside the UK was in the USA, Spain and Italy. This time around the picture is rather different – at the launch event and subseqently the campaign has been receiving excellent coverage in Germany. A long piece today at Spiegel Online has been so popular that it’s the ‘Most Wanted’ article on their website.
There was also plenty of coverage in RTL Aktuell and RTL Nachtjournal.

Great campaign! A vectorized version of campaign bus slogen would be nice, so everybody could create his own “merchandise” products (posters, badges,…). Keep up the good work, M.

I think this message is not really about Atheism. It is a message to people to enjoy what they have and not worry about what they can’t control. Atheism is too absolute a stance to afford a ‘probably’ in the message. I love the call to focus on what is important – your life. Live it well. And more importantly, fight for certainties not for probabilities – religion inspired wars should end, as should poverty and malnourishment.

Hi,
I´m a 23 year old student of European Media and live in Berlin. I would love to support an atheist campaign in Germany and especially in my city.
Right now a church-campaign called “pro reli” is collecting signatures for the re-introduction of religion classes in public schools. (A short radio-reportage by Deutsche Welle: http://www.ardmediathek.de/ard/servlet/content/1125236)
The whole city is covered with their slogans of “free choice” (http://www.pro-reli.de) and an atheist campaign would certainly add to the discussion.

Hi, I´m from Berlin and a devoted atheist. I saw the reportage of the buses on RTL yesterday. It´s really great!! I hope the campaigns comes to Germany too.
And the translated text is bad translated, typical for translation generators.
Believe me the german text is good.
And no prejudices against Germans please, we´re nice and we´re Atheists like you!!

Ein solches Projekt in Deutschland weiter zu führen würde sehr in meinem Interesse liegen. Hier zu wäre ich Ihnen dankbar für nähere Informationen zu diesem Vorhaben.
Ich verfolge nun schon gewisse Zeit dieses Projekt und bin begeistert von dessen Verlauf. Gerne würde ich diese ansicht weiter vertreten in Deutschland

maybe we should try to do it in several cities. with good organization this would really appear to a lot more people then. already some people from several cities here said they would like to help.
an agency to set up the designs and slogans seems also to be there as stated in the last post. so it should probably fit together nicely!

The Brights Germany also would like to join the campaign in germany. There ist a huge support for the idea here but the official representative organisations for reasonists maintain a low profile.

Die Deutschen Brights würden die Kampagne in Deutschland gern unterstützen. Es gibt ein breites Interesse für die Kampagne in ganz Deutschland aber die großen Skeptiker-Organisationen halten sich bisher sehr bedeckt.

Ich habe die Aktion bisher sehr interessiert mitverfolgt, da sich mir schon öfter die Frage stellte, warum S-Bahnen mit Bibelzitaten zugepflastert werden, aber nicht mal mehr der Ethikunterricht Raum für Zweifel an Gott und der Bibel lässt. Ich persönlich habe das Gefühl dass einem gerade in Deutschland immer häufiger der Glauben untergeschoben wird, ob man will oder nicht. Das verstehe ich nicht unter Toleranz oder Akzeptanz oder gar als Glaubensfreiheit. Ich komme aus dem Raum Stuttgart und würde gerade im Süden Deutschlands eine solche Aktion sehr begrüßen.
